SECRETARY-GENERAL:
AGATA COLON
Agata Colon is serving as the Secretary-General for the ninth session of TAEMUN. This is her fourth year in Model UN, and her second year serving on Edison’s Model UN team. Throughout her time in Model UN, she has attended many conferences and has experience in all types of committees. Agata is currently pursuing the IB Diploma as a senior at Edison High School, and she plans to major in public health in college. In the future, she hopes to become a certified medical assistant and work in pediatrics. Outside of MUN, she manages Edison’s Girls Lacrosse teams and volunteers at Inova’s Mount Vernon Hospital. In her spare time, Agata enjoys writing, drinking obscene amounts of caffeine, and going out to eat with friends. As Secretary-General, she is excited to be hosting TAEMUN IX and hopes everyone has a great time!
UNDERSECRETARY-GENERAL:
ALEXANDER OWEN
Alexander Owen is this year's Under Secretary-General for the ninth session of TAEMUN. He has been active in Model UN for four years and in its leadership for two years. Like many, Alexander is pursuing the IB diploma and has plans to study International relations and psychology. After school, Alexander is active in both ping pong and Edison tennis. In his free time, Alexander loves mountain biking, debating and hanging out with friends. It is his mission to ensure that everyone loves TAEMUN just as much as he does.

ASSISTANT SECRETARY-GENERAL:
EVA OWEN
Evdoxia Owen is serving as the Assistant Secretary-General for TAEMUN IX. This is her fourth year in Model UN, and her second year serving on Edison’s Model UN team. Throughout her time in Model UN, she has chaired and attended conferences while managing to have at least two samosas at each one. Eva is currently pursuing the IB Diploma as a senior at Edison High School, and she plans to major in Architecture in University, so she can create her own firm and make tons of money. Outside of MUN, she is Co-President of TSA and has earned her Eagle Scout Rank in Scouting BSA. In her spare time, Eva enjoys painting her nails, playing beach volleyball and going out with friends. As Assistant Secretary-General, she is excited to see new members TAEMUN IX and hopes everyone has a memorable time!

DIRECTOR GENERAL:
LAYA KARUNAKARAN
Laya Karunakaran is serving as the Director General for TAEMUN IX. She has been a part of Model UN since her sophomore year and has been able to experience and enjoy various types of committees at many conferences over the years as both a chair and delegate. She is currently a senior pursuing the IB diploma at Edison, so she can hopefully move far far away to Europe. In the future, Laya plans to pursue medicine with a specialty in neurology. At Edison, she is involved in various other activities including being on the field hockey team, co-president of TSA, lead tutor at the Edison Writing Center, President of Friendly Faces, and a Student Ambassador. Outside of school, she loves to dance and has for 13 years. In her free time, if she has any, she enjoys reading (she would love love love recs), sketching and watching football (Liverpool>>>). Laya is excited to help create an enjoyable, memorable TAEMUN IX experience for everyone!

DIRECTOR OF FINANCES:
JOSH KOHM
Josh Kohm is honored to be the Director of Finance for TAEMUN IX. He has been in Model UN for two years and has attended NAIMUN, CHMUN, and TECHMUN, as well as serving as a crisis staffer in TAEMUN VIII. As a junior, he is pursuing an IB Diploma at Edison, and he hopes to pursue a degree in Classics and Political Sciences after high school. Other than MUN, he is heavily active in Edison’s Latin club, competes in Quiz Bowl and Certamen, umpires for the local youth baseball league, and is a fan of the [objectively] best MLB team the New York Yankees. He is excited to handle the MUNey as the Director of Finance for TAEMUN IX and continue to participate in Model UN over the next two years.

DIRECTOR OF LOGISTICS:
MAYA MANCHESTER
Maya Manchester is serving as the Director of Logistics for TAEMUN IX. Maya is currently a senior and has been active in Edison Model UN since her freshman year. Maya is pursuing an IB Diploma and plans on majoring in international relations in college. Maya has enjoyed her years in Edison Model UN and has greatly improved her public speaking and leadership skills through attending various local and national conferences. Outside of Model UN, Maya founded Period101, a 501(c)(3) non-profit dedicated to fighting period poverty - the lack of access to menstrual hygiene products. Maya is the Co-President of the Edison HS Period101 chapter. Additionally, Maya is a tutor and committee lead in the Edison Writing Center, a student ambassador, and the Treasurer of Friendly Faces, a club devoted to writing letters to and connecting with members of senior assisted living communities. Maya is excited for TAEMUN IX and can’t wait to meet the delegates coming to our conference this year!
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS:
KEIRA OVERMANN
Keira Overmann is excited to be serving as the Director of Operations for TAEMUN IX! She has been participating in Model UN for two years and has managed to lose her placard at every conference. As a senior, Keira is currently pursuing an IB Diploma in the interest of getting her credits transferred in college to evade becoming broke. In college, Keira plans to study biology and anthropology in hopes of traveling the world as an ethnobotanist. Outside of school, Keira spends most of her time working at a veterinary clinic or on the soccer field. Beyond that, Keira loves cooking and eating food while watching tv. Keira hopes you find the committees interesting and enjoy a fantastic time at TAEMUN IX!

CHIEF OF STAFF:
DARREN NGUYEN
Darren Nguyen is serving as the Chief of Staff for the ninth session of TAEMUN. He is a senior and has been a part of Model UN for two years. He has gone to a handful of conferences, participating in Crisis and General Assemblies and enjoyed every minute of them. However his first direct exposure to Model UN was as TAEMUN’s photographer (insta: @darren.the.photographer :). Still, the best part of Model UN for him is the ability to advance his public speaking skills and confidence through the discussion and debates of many global issues. Outside of Model UN, Darren also is the founder of the Edison Photographers Club, SGA Historian, and Co-President for TSA. He also is on the swim, track, and judo sport teams. Penguins are his favorite animal. He is excited to work with the TAEMUN team to create a successful conference and meet the delegates of Model UN!

DIRECTOR OF HOSPITALITY:
PAUL SANDERS
Paul Sanders is currently the Director of Hospitality for the Edison Model UN club. His ultimate goal while in MUN is to become an exceptional delegate and become Director General for the Edison MUN club. So far, his biggest achievement is successfully attending NAIMUN and writing a resolution paper. When you get to meet him, he would be happy to share his experiences from the conferences he has attended and hopes to have you on secretariat in the coming years.
